Goodbye 2015. Hello 2016!

Happy New Year!

I know I’m a few days behind on reviewing 2015 + envisioning 2016 but better late than never! Here is my recap of 2015 and what I want to achieve in 2016. I hope your year is off to a great start!

2015 Recap
2015 was by far the hardest year of my life…

To be fair, 2015 had a lot to live up to compared to 2014. In 2014, I parted ways with the corporate world to find myself, got married, got a new job that I love and am passionate about, won an amazing trip to New York City for the 20th Anniversary of the TV show FRIENDS (my favorite!), and spent a lot of time with friends and family. 2014 was a great year! 2015 on the other hand, not so much.

Long story short… I got a horrible stomach flu that kept me out of work for several days, had my first-ever surgery to remove some pre-cancerous lesions {don’t worry - all is good now!}, lost my mother-in-law to cancer in April then lost my own mother unexpectedly in May {may my 2 Angels RIP}, lost my 2 team mates shortly after and had to fill in while still dealing with everything else going on my life… and that was only the first half of the year. The second half of the year didn’t have as much drama. However, it was months full of coping with losing 2 loved ones combined with some my own personal struggles, family struggles, and financial struggles.

Don’t get me wrong, 2015 had some great moments too! My husband and I celebrated our 1-year wedding anniversary in July, my new team mates and I successfully planned and executed our 2 major fundraising galas and had a record-breaking year for both {shout out to my #GalaGirls}, I spent more time with my family and friends, got to spend the holidays with both of my families {which is hard to do}, and I checked a few items off of my list of life’s endeavors (aka my Bucket List).

All in all though, I’m still happy to start a new year and have a fresh start!

2016 Goals
As I’m determined to put 2015 behind me and really work on making 2016 a year full of excitement and opportunity, here are some goals I have set for myself!

I want love to travel more! Whether it be in the U.S. or internationally, I want to start seeing the places I hear so much about and have been longing to visit, or maybe just want to visit again.

Turning my blog into a business is a goal I set for myself months ago when I decided to start blogging again. It isn’t just about creating partnerships and representing brands… it is also about motivating others, providing guidance, and enjoying it along the way that will help me work towards this goal over the next year.

I will create a healthier lifestyle for myself – physically, mentally and financially. We get so busy with life some times that we forget about what makes us happy and what is/isn’t good for us. Over the past few years, I have let my myself slip too many times and find excuses. So back to the gym, better decisions, more positivity and a “can do” attitude are definitely on the agenda for 2016!

Lastly, I am going to always keep in mind my favorite quote of all time… the quote that was the inspiration behind this blog…
No Limits.
If you can Dream It and Imagine It
 then you can Do It.
